Courses and programmes
Throughout the year we run several courses to train and qualify professionals in one of the three rating tools – Green Star, Homestar or NABERSNZ.
Gaining a formal accreditation in one of the rating tools is often real asset for sector professionals, demonstrating skill in the growing area of sustainability or building performance.
Rating tool education all occurs at two levels – a one-day course for Practitioner status, enabling professionals to advise and support projects; followed by a day of in-depth training in the detail of the tools, which leads to accreditation to assess and submit ratings. Available qualifications are:
- Green Star – Practitioner or Accredited Professional
- Homestar - Practitioner or Assessor
- NABERSNZ - Practitione · r or Assessor
Other courses and programmes
Many of our courses are not directly related to the rating tools, but cover a wide range of skills and topics related to green building.
Our workshops typically last around two hours, and are designed to give hands-on practical skill and knowledge. One of our recent workshop series was ‘How To’ breakfasts for design and building professionals on aspects of Homestar and residential construction, covering waste, slab-edge insulation, apartments, and water management.
We draw on the knowledge and experience of skilled experts in developing the content for our masterclasses, which are typically specialised and may cover theory and new thinking, technical detail on notable case studies, or international developments.
