Homestar registrations have grown ten fold in the last 18 months to over 6,500 registrations. To keep up with this demand we have undergone a major review of the tool to ensure a simpler, quickaer and more marketable verification of quality. Peter Wolfkamp - Celebrity and MC

Known nationally our Resident Builder, Peter hosts his own building and DIY Radio show on Newstalk ZB, “Sunday Mornings with the Resident Builder” 6-8am, which was launched May 2014. Running for over 2 years, Peter is now NZ’s top DIY radio personality with a weekly audience of 148,000. The programme includes taking questions from callers and offering advice on DIY projects plus ‘Ask the Expert’ segments. Peter still continues with his 15-minute segment on Tuesday’s at 3.30pm as the Building Expert on Newstalk ZB.

Peter’s TV career is building apace, with the launch of his very own TV programme, Creative Living on TV3 in September 2016. This series focused on the challenges and choices facing any homeowner as they transform their existing home into a warm, comfortable and efficient home for the future. Peter’s experience, knowledge and expertise helped assist the owners, and he even got his hands dirty as they work to create a great renovation.

As the site foreman for The Block NZ since 2012, ‘The Wolf’ as he’s referred to on The Block, brings a unique combination of construction and technical knowledge, along with hands-on chippy experience. Peter has also developed editorial and narrative skills that have proved useful to the production team.

Dr Rhys Jones

Co-convenor of OraTaiao: The NZ Climate and Health Council

Dr Rhys Jones is a Public Health Medicine Specialist and Senior Lecturer in Māori Health at the University of Auckland. He is passionate about health, equity, sustainability and indigenous rights. His research interests include environmental influences on health, with an emphasis on indigenous wellbeing. Rhys is Co-Convenor of OraTaiao: The New Zealand Climate and Health Council and a past chairperson of Te ORA (The Māori Medical Practitioners Association).

Gareth Stiven

General Manager Strategy - Housing New Zealand

Gareth commenced this new position at Housing New Zealand in January 2017 following a number of years as a consultant at PwC and as a senior manager in local government.

The position was established to help Housing New Zealand respond to the strategic challenges, opportunities and changing dynamics within the housing sector.

Gareth has extensive public sector and infrastructure experience, and has provided advice and led projects in relation to water, ports, housing, transport and economic infrastructure. This experience has included:

  • provision of strategic, economic and policy advice
  • development and assessment of infrastructure business cases
  • financial and economic modelling

Tracey Wadsworth

General Manager - Tamaki Regeneration Company

Tracey is a property and finance professional with over 25 years' experience in valuation, corporate real estate, strategic property advisory, property development and infrastructure financing. Tracey has held senior positions within the Royal Bank of Scotland, CRI and Urban Growth.
