Accredited Energy Modellers can now issue Producer Statements for Green Star submissions, in the place of a full energy report. This is part of the Green Star Spring Clean, significantly reducing the time and cost associated with compiling Green Star submissions.
To be eligible to become an Accredited Energy Modeller, a number of criteria must be met. To determine if you are eligible, please download the Accredited Energy Modeller Application Form.
If you are eligible and would like to become an NZGBC Accredited Energy Modeller please send an email to the NZGBC at greenstarnz@nzgbc.org.nz and attach the following documentation:
The application fee is $350 (excl. GST). An invoice will be generated upon receipt of this application form.
The annual certification fee is $750 (excl. GST). This will be payable once the NZGBC has confirmed that the applicant is eligible to become an Accredited Energy Modeller, and annually on the anniversary of accreditation.
Each Accredited Energy Modeller is required to apply each year for their annual certification. If an individual does not have current certification then their producer statements will not be accepted for Green Star NZ assessments.
Each Accredited Energy Modeller is required to have completed at least one Green Star NZ energy model every 2 years (i.e. have points awarded for a project submitted for a Green Star NZ rating for which they have either (i) completed or (ii) reviewed and approved the energy model). This requirement will be checked each year by the NZGBC.
