Membership Fees

NZGBC membership fees are different for each industry category and determined according to the size of your business, i.e. annual turnover or number of staff as indicated in the fee table below. Membership fees shown are annual and exclude GST. The NZGBC membership period covers the financial year 1 July - 30 June. However, fees charged for new members joining within the year are calculated on a pro-rata basis within that financial year period.

Subsidiary companies can become members of NZGBC under the parent company membership. The subsidiary's annual turnover must be included in the parent company’s turnover bracket. Subsidiary companies receive all the same benefits as their parent company. Divisions of companies fall under the parent company membership. Note 1: Fees are GST exclusive and are based on one individual company. For parent companies with multiple brands that have significant market presence, a relative formula can be used to determine a negotiated membership fee.

Note 2:  For those applying for memberships under Category 11 (Higher Education, Research and Non-Government Organisations), please note that this category is intended only for applications from research bodies, educational institutes or other organisations with a primary focus on education, research or provision of other professional services that are, in the Board’s opinion, relevant to New Zealand Green Building Council’s objectives. ‘For organisations with a primary purpose, function or operation of advocacy of a particular interest, please contact New Zealand Green Building Council separately for possible associate arrangements.
