Green Star Project Submission

UPDATE: There is now an empty folder structure available for download for our GSAPs (you need to be logged into the website in order to access it). This contains empty folders for all credits to assist with organising your Green Star submission. You will need to delete the folders which are not relevant to the tool you are using.

UPDATE: New improved credit templates coming soon as part of our Spring Clean. These will be mandatory for projects registered after their release.

The NZGBC has been developing a Good Submission Guide. This Guide aims to equip Green Star Accredited Professionals with a deeper understanding of the Certification Process and provide tools that will aid in the collation of first class submissions.

The first installments of the Gude are the Submission Guidelines and Materials Calculator Guidelines, which are available to download from the website. In addition, we have Credit Coversheet Templates to use for submissions. We look forward to bringing you new instalments and information to assist you to make good submissions soon.

Please remember to contact NZGBC 2 weeks prior to submitting your Round 1 submission.

Green Star Credit Coversheet Templates

These templates:

  1. Reduce the time and cost associated with compiling submissions, as Green Star Accredited Professionals can utilise these rather than create their own coversheets.
  2. Act as an interactive checklist to inform Green Star Accredited Professionals when the documentation requirements for each Credit are met. This should also increase round one assessment scores.
  3. Integrate the short reports required within the Technical Manuals into the Credit Coversheet Templates in the form of text boxes or tables. This reduces the need for the creation of additional documents, and where tables are included they provide explicit guidance as to what information is required.
  4. Expedite the assessment process for the NZGBC through consistent submission formatting.

The NZGBC has conducted extensive testing of these templates prior to release but concede that there may still be some errors within them. Therefore, please provide your feedback by contacting us.

All Project Teams currently working on submissions are encouraged to use these templates. However, the use of these templates is mandatory for projects registering after the following dates:

Please note that these Credit Coversheet Templates do not replace the Technical Manuals in any way. Project Teams must always refer to the relevant Technical Manual when compiling their project submissions as these templates merely summarise the requirements within the Technical Manuals.

The NZGBC would like to thank all of those people within the industry who contributed to the release of these Credit Coversheet Templates.

Green Star Submission Checklist

The NZGBC has also created a Submission Checklist for Education Design 2009 to ensure that Green Star Accredited Professionals provide the information that the NZGBC Assessors require in order to conduct the assessment. Please note that there is no Submission Checklist currently available for the other tools. However Project Teams are encouraged to use the Education Submission Checklist as a guide when creating their own.

Example Green Star Submission

In July 2009, The GreenHouse, The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) Head Office, achieved a 5 Star Green Star - Office Interiors v1.1 certified rating under the GBCA's Office Interiors rating tool. The GBCA subsequently put the entire submission on their website to demonstrate the type and amount of documentation required when targeting an Office Interior rating. It is highly recommended that all Project Teams targeting a certified Green Star rating view this submission before beginning to compile their own.
