Natural Ventilation in the 6 Green Star - Office Design certified Geyser Building

The new Geyser building achieved maximum credits for Energy in their Green Star submission.  Take a look at the natural ventilation of NZ's first 6 Green Star project which does not require the commonly used energy consuming plant.

Tricia Love from Arup will discuss how the building's dynamic 3-dimensional semi-reflective white twin-walled facade creates natural heating and cooling ventilation, reducing the energy use of the building.

Commissioning Green Buildings - Five Years On....

Is Commissioning Sustainable? Too often new and refurbished buildings have been handed over to clients without commissioning services. The results - high energy wastage and dissatisfied occupants.

Things are changing. More and more buildings are being designed for lower energy use and Green Star pre-commitments, so commissioning is increasingly important for a high performing building.  Giving examples from Landcare Research , Waitakere Civic Centre and Albany Junior High experiences, Neil Purdie, Aurecon, will talk about commissioning, how you can ensure the appropriate level of commissioning is applied, helping you meet your Green Star obligations, and avoid some of the common pitfalls.

The Impact of Glass on Green Buildings

Glass plays a critical role in the appearance and indoor environment quality of our commercial buildings. Efficient use of glass can offer positive outcomes associated with appropriate façade treatments for new projects and when retrofitting our existing buildings. Andrew Hamilton, Viridian, will give you insights into the performance properties of different glass types and the capabilities aligned to interlayer and coating technology.
