NEW ! Existing Buildings Green Star Rating Eligible

New Zealand’s existing buildings are now eligible to be rated by Green Star, as the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) expands the Office 2009 tool to address the unique opportunities available to our existing building stock, from 1 July 2009.

The expanded Office 2009 tool will help building owners measure their building and any improvements to it on a consistent scale with new buildings. It provides owners with guidance and opportunities when developing their building upgrade plans and aims to maximise the efficiency of buildings while minimising environmental impacts.

Green Star NZ - Office 2009

Green Star NZ - Office 2009 is now available for the property industry to be rewarded for their green building achievements with a Green Star NZ - Design or Built rating. This new tool combines the Design and the Built tools into one Technical Manual and one excel tool.

We've taken on board your feedback and made the tool easier to use and ensured it continues to be relevant to the needs of the industry. Registration dates of Office Design & Built v1

Building projects can no longer be registered with Office Design v1. Those projects that have already registered with Office Design v1, may register to be rated under Office Built v1.

You must have completed your full registration, including payment of fees, by 31 May 2009 under the Design v1 tool, in order to be able to recieve a Built rating under this version of the tool. No further registrations under Office Design & Built v1 are being taken.

However, any project currently registered under Office Design and Built v1, may elect to be rated under the new 2009 tool.
