The New Zealand Green Building Council works in a variety of ways to help ensure New Zealanders live, work and play in a more sustainable built environment.
Advice and advocacy
We work with government, local government and industry to advocate for policies and approaches that will help create healthier, more sustainable homes and cities. We can also work alongside our members to support them in achieving specific sustainability goals.
Education, training and events
We run a busy programme of education and training to help give industry professionals the skills and knowledge they need to deliver more sustainable buildings – ranging from short one-off masterclasses to in-depth training for qualifications.
We run many fun and informative events throughout the year, both for members and others, that highlight the best of green building practice. This includes an annual Summit on commercial or residential topics.
We run several rating tools that work to support, encourage and reward the design and construction of more sustainable and efficient buildings. Our rating tools cover different types of homes, commercial buildings, schools – and we can even customise tools to suit specific projects.
We work alongside many different organisations who share our vision – both in government, local government, business and the not-for-profit sector.
