Following on from last year's sustainability National Breakfast Seminar Series, Mark Sinclair (FM Concepts) and Bobby Shen (NZGBC) will present a full-day tailor-made pilot workshop in Auckland alongside guest speakers from EECA, NZGBC and FMANZ.
During the course of the day, they'll explore in more detail the frameworks and tools available for facilities managers to drive continuous improvement in sustainable building operations, focusing on energy efficiency, decarbonisation, water and wellbeing. The day will include group exercises, a panel discussion and plenty of time for Q&A. (See workshop outline below.)
Facilities managers are often not collecting important data about building efficiency. This workshop will help you get started and explain the frameworks and tools available to help run your facilities more efficiently and sustainably.
You'll learn why collecting this data and using tools is so important; for example for budgeting and controlling your utility consumption, measuring CO2 output, and helping to get prepared for a NABERSNZ or Green Star Performance rating. Having this data will help you predict what future utilities and waste consumption might look like, which in turn will assist with setting operating cost budgets at the preliminary design phase of developments or major refurbishments.
