NZGBC Waikato Forum organised this first in a series of activities for 2017. Participants connected with like-minded NZGBC members and professionals in the Waikato and exchanged ideas on how to achieve a greener built environment in the region.
The meeting included:
Tour leader: Julie Taverner, Facilities Manager of Kakariki House. This unassuming building belies a green icon see case study. As the first Green Star certified building in the Waikato, it is a fitting place to launch the NZGBC Waikato Forum. What are the features of this building and how have they stood the test of time? Are they still leading edge or have they become main stream? And how has working in a more sustainable building affected the working lives of its tenants? See presentation
Andrea Davison, Senior Technical Coordinator, NZGBC looks at how the Green Star process has evolved since Kakariki House, how market expectations are changing regarding rating tools, and what we can expect to see in the near future. See presentation
Ian Matthew, Senior Project Engineer at Holmes Consulting LP, outlines the aims of the Forum and what you can expect to see in 2017. Followed by open discussion about areas of interest for future events. See presentation
New Zealand Green Building Council are very grateful to NZGBC Waikato Forum Partner Holmes Consulting LP, Hamilton, for their generous contribution to making this venture a success.
