What makes Zero Heroes: A transcontinental view on buildings and energy

Hans-Christian Wilhelm, Senior Lecturer at the University of Architecture, VuW, will look at the bigger picture of energy and buildings, criss-crossing between 50 degrees North (Germany) and 41 degrees south (New Zealand) before having a closer look at the main aspects contributing to the energy footprint associated to buildings. Finally it takes snapshots of ways towards net zero, from legislation to lifestyle.

Patrick Arnold, eCubed Ltd. A number of significant buildings are proposed in Wellington and New Zealand. Patrick will describe how they are raising standards for performance and well-being of buildings, and responding to environmental issues.

Elzine Braasch, Aecom will be discussing what makes Site 10 PwC Centre a Green star 5 rated building, the energy efficiency and quality during design, and going beyond the rating into the focus and importance of ‘resilience’.
