NZGBC Future Thinkers: Indigenous Representation in the Built Environment

Haere mai. Future Thinkers kicked off 2020 with a look at how we, as makers of the built environment, can support the use of tikanga maori principles in the way we design and build our urban spaces. We had an impressive panel who discussed and answered your questions. Generously hosted by Bayleys Real Estate, it was a great chance to learn, network, and get stuck in to 2020.

We had time to have kōrero about how we can be better treaty partners and support the inclusion of tikanga Maori principles in the way we design and build. We sat down with a panel of experts to discuss the application of kaitiakitanga and representation of mana whenua and their stories in our cities.

Thank you to Josephine Clark, Maia Ratana and Elisapeta Heta for so generously giving up their time to share their ideas with us.

This event was generously hosted by Bayleys Real Estate. We were excited to catch up with our Future Thinkers and hear all about what everyone was up to in 2020. We welcomed new and old members to our whanau to make sure everyone felt welcome!

NZGBC Future Thinkers is a young professionals and students group, connecting people in the building industry who have an interest in a sustainable future for our urban environments. Check out our website for information.
