NABERSNZ Practitioner

Registrations have now closed

The NABERSNZ Practitioner programme recognises a need for knowledge and leadership around the NABERSNZ rating tool, without the necessity for an in depth understanding of the specifics of how ratings are achieved.

The Practitioner programme will prepare participants to take a leadership role in initiating and implementing a NABERSNZ certified rating and will provide an understanding of the tool requirements sufficient to knowledgeably contribute in the commercial office development arena.

Course Outline

The one day Practitioner programme will:

  • Identify the key drivers for the introduction of an energy rating tool in New Zealand
  • Introduce the NABERSNZ rating tool
  • Identify some of the aspects of energy use that a NABERSNZ assessment considers
  • Explain the requirements of the rating tool and the data required to do a rating
  • Assist participants to communicate key messages about NABERSNZ to other employee

  • Course Participants

The NABERSNZ practitioner course is suited to those who :
  • work in-house in an owner or tenant company ( property, facilities, energy and sustainability managers)
  • are involved in the design and fit out of energy efficient buildings (architects, engineers, HVAC or lighting specialists)
  • Have a policy or strategic interest in energy efficient buildings ( council, professional bodies, government)

    Transition to NABERSNZ Assessor Pathway
NABERSNZ Assessors must meet pre-requisite requirements before being accepted onto the Assessor Training programme. If Practitioners meet those requirements they may be able to achieve this qualification by completing Day 2 only of the Assessor training programme.

A note about Covid: We are following governments guidelines closely. The course is designed to be held in person, which means we are not able to go ahead if Auckland remains at Level 3.
