Together, we’ve made some great progress on zero carbon homes and buildings in the last couple of years. And this progress has culminated in Friday’s significant Government announcement on buildings and climate change. Full story.



Government unveils once in a generation green building reform

The Government’s plans, announced on Friday, to transform the building sector to slash emissions is a huge step fowards. With your support, we've been pushing for improvements to our woeful Building Code. The Building for Climate Change programme is a hugely important acknowledgement and step towards this. Homestar is owned by all of us in the green building movement who want homes in Aotearoa to be healthy, warm, dry places for New Zealanders to thrive in. That's why we want to hear from you. Newly certified Green Star

Great news for Nexus Point Ltd and Manson TCLM who have both received 5 Green Star Built certifications in the last month with Foodstuffs bagging a 5 Green star Design rating for its brand new headquarters in Auckland. Read more.


One million square metres of office space measured and rated

NABERSNZ has now measured and rated how energy is used across a combined office floor space of one million square metres. However, an estimated 90 percent of office workers are still in the dark about how they could reduce their power bills and carbon emissions.This annual rating has proven highly effective in encouraging energy efficiency in buildings, with most re-raters posting improved outcomes year on year.
