Building Knowledge

Aotearoa is facing two substantial challenges. We need an effective economic stimulus. And we also need to slash our climate pollution.

This is the most important time ever for the building and construction sector in Aotearoa. Our sector has a key role to play in tackling era-defining problems. And that’s what makes this year’s World Green Building Week so vital.

Join thousands of New Zealanders this September as we celebrate World Green Building Week with a series of thought provoking panel discussions and webinars tackling the big issues.

Our super popular training courses are moving online. The Green Star Practitioner course is now online and available for you anytime, from anywhere in Aotearoa. This follows the Homestar Practitioner course, which went online in July. We hope this makes in-depth learning about your green building rating tools even more accessible.

Join Francesca Lipscombe on 9 September
in the third of our Products & Materials webinar series as she discusses ecolabels and their role in green buildings.

To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Teo Māori, join us online on 16 September as we bring together an expert panel to discuss how we can all embed Māori design and language in our built environment.

We've extended the grace period for qualification renewals due in July 2020, keep an eye on your inbox for further information or get in touch if you have any questions.

Homestar & Green Star training

Our super popular training courses are moving online.

The Green Star Practitioner course is now online and available for you anytime, from anywhere in Aotearoa. This follows the Homestar Practitioner course, which went online in July. We hope this makes in-depth learning about your green building rating tools even more accessible.

We’ve prepared a free introduction module to the Green Star Practitioner course. You can access that here

We were really looking forward to hosting some in-person training again, both the Homestar Assessor and Green Star Accredited Professional. However, after recent announcements, we’ve decided to move the Homestar Assessor course online, and the GSAP course planned for Auckland in September has been postponed to October (dates still TBC).

Online training for Green Star Advanced: Performance is on 20 October and Green Star Advanced: Communities training on the 27 October. Please speak to Green Building Council Australia directly to book your ticket.
