HomeFit the next bar for landlords

Landlords now have to ensure their rentals meet the Healthy Homes Standards within 90 days of a new tenancy. Yet we know from our free online HomeFit check the majority could fail. Landlords around the country have been using HomeFit certification to make improvements and show compliance with the new rules.


Welcome our new Residential Business Development Manager Matthew Cutler-Welsh

We are thrilled to welcome Matthew back to the New Zealand Green Building Council. He joins us in the role of Business Development Manager – Residential where he will be helping those building new homes and managing existing homes, rental properties and home owners to achieve lower carbon, healthier places to live.

Aotearoa's largest listed property investor commits to green building

Goodman Property Trust has committed to targeting a 5 star Green Star rating for all new projects in their sustainable development programme, and reducing and offsetting their embodied carbon.

Designs for $236m Manukau Health Park signed off

Preliminary designs have been signed off for the $236 million redevelopment of the Manukau Health Park, and construction is expected to start before the end of the year.


Case study: The Hotel Britomart is officially Aotearoa’s first Green Star hotel

The Auckland hotel development includes the refurbishment of two adjoining heritage buildings, Masonic House and Buckland Building, and a new public laneway connecting Galway and Customs Streets.
