Urban Designer, Planner & Mother

Lisa is a qualified Urban Designer and Planner with in excess of 25 years’ experience in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland. In 2019, following 15 years’ at Boffa Miskell Ltd, she established her own boutique urban design and planning practice.

Over the past two and a half decades her experience has spanned a range of areas from stakeholder and community engagement, master planning, town centre regeneration strategies, through to design guidance and research into medium density residential developments and alternative models of housing.

Lisa is actively involved in championing quality urban design outcomes, including in her role as a current member and chair of Auckland Council’s Urban Design Panel and the Auckland Housing Programme Design Review Panel and chair of Kāinga Ora’s Tāmaki Design Review Panel. In addition, she regularly provides urban design advice to Auckland Council and other clients, including residential house builders and community housing providers, for development proposals.

In both her professional and personal life, Lisa is passionate about reinforcing a sense of place for communities, involving local communities in decision-making and creating places all people can enjoy. She has two teenagers and enjoys nurturing in them her love of urban places and the diverse communities that dwell in them.
