Update on our work

-Updated April 22-
Here's an update on our work, and what you can expect from us over the next few weeks, from your green certification tools to our courses and webinars. We'll continue to update this page, so do check back.
Firstly, our events...
We’re committed to all New Zealanders being healthy and happy, and with that firmly at the front of our mind, and in our hearts, we've decided to postpone some important events that we know many of you were looking forward to.
We’ve postponed the 2020 Housing Summit. It was the only decision we could make right now. We're hoping to hold it at a later date, so do watch this space.
Events such as Green Speak Waikato and Insights and lessons learned to date – One year after the release of Design & As Built have been been moved online so make sure you register and join us. Keep an eye on our Events Hub for more chances to get tune in from home.
Also, in case you missed it we are thrilled to have awarded this year’s Future Thinker of the Year award to Tessa Meyer. The process was taken online and created some really inspiring conversation. Keep an eye out for more from Tessa and our Future Thinkers over the coming weeks.
Your green certification tools...
We’re really happy to see enquiries and lodgements for ratings continue as people are using this time to get submissions processed. The technical team here are continuing to process registrationsand submissions for all of our rating tools including Homestar, HomeFit, Green Star and NABERSNZ, and they’re responding to any submissions and technical questions you may have in the normal timeframe.
We are, of course, aware that some construction projects will be delayed. Please do get in touch with us if you have any concerns about meeting submission deadlines. The team are always happy to help.
And keep an eye on the individual webpages for each of the rating tools (Homestar, Green Star, HomeFit and NABERSNZ) as we’ll be updating those pages soon with specific information.
Our upcoming HomeFit and Green Star courses will take place online given the current circumstances. If you need training in our healthy building verification tools, see our upcoming training here.
While you’re at home do remember that we have a host of great training resources in our video library. If you need extra FE points for your qualification renewal, make sure you give those that have FE points associated with them a watch.
The team always like hearing from you, so do please get in touch with us if we can help with anything, or if you have any suggestions. We're all working at home, and available as usual.
And for up to date building and construction sector guidance check www.building.govt.nz/covid-19.
It's been a busy time as we work to ensure our response and pathway post Covid-19 is green, sustainable and good for our planet. Read more about what our CEO Andrew Eagles and the team have been up to here.
As the Government considers hundreds of shovel ready projects, Andrew Eagles has written to Ministers pushing for our investment to paint a green path to recovery.
We're also continuing to push for changes to our woeful Building Code. We've published a breakdown of improvements Aotearoa needs here.
