New Zealand Green Building Council establishes regional group in Waikato

23 February 2017

The NZGBC Waikato Forum is partnering with Holmes Consulting, and was launched in response to local interest for more events and opportunities to connect with like-minded NZGBC members and professionals in the region.

NZGBC CEO Andrew Eagles hopes the forum will bring even greater knowledge to the area.

“We are seeing requests for more information and events to discuss ideas, technologies and projects for buildings and homes. The group will support local professionals in the Waikato area building to Green Star, Homestar and NABERSNZ standards. It is great to be taking it ahead with Holmes Consulting”

The first event will be held on March 23 at Kakariki House in Hamilton, the first certified Green Star Building in the Waikato. The event will look at what makes this building sustainable, how green building design changed since it was built, and how Green Star kept up with advances in technology and social expectations.

The event is free for NZGBC members, but is also open to non-members. Tertiary students and establishments are also welcome. To register please go to the NZGBC upcoming events page .

The NZGBC is a not for profit member organisation, working to help New Zealanders live, work and play in healthy, efficient and productive buildings in a sustainable built environment.

Holmes Consulting is a local, national and international supplier of structural and civil engineering services.
