About NZGBC Events

The New Zealand Green Building Council runs an active events programme throughout the year, ranging from full-scale industry conferences to informal member drinks.

With such a dynamic year upon us in 2018 we have established a calendar of current sponsorship opportunities for the year ahead. From projects like 'Advancing Net Zero' to our well thought of Green Room Events there are many opportunities to join us and align your brand with the latest building practice and thinking, it can also provide an opportunity to profile your products and services.

Every year we run one major industry conference, which alternates between a residential and commercial theme.In June 2016 we ran the Sustainable Housing Summit In 2017 we ran the successful Green Property Summit with the Property Council of New Zealand.

Green Rooms

We run two Green Room events a year in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. This gives members a chance to network and hear a selection of expert speakers on recent developments in green building.

Products and Materials

We host an annual Products & Materials forum to update members on recent advancements in materials and rating tools. From time to time we also host member briefings on product innovations.

Other Events

Throughout the year we hold buildings tours when there are notable certified projects, and host member networking drinks. There is also a range of other events we hold or take part in:

  • we collaborate with Prefab NZ and other industry associations (such as the NZ Institute of Architects and ADNZ) on joint Cluster events for members
  • each year we mark World Green Building Week at the end of September with some special events
  • we organise special one-off events and briefings in response to industry demand.
