NZGBC feedback on the Productivity Commission draft report on transitioning to a low carbon economy.

The previous Government asked the Commission to identify options for how New Zealand can reduce its domestic greenhouse gas emissions through a transition to a low-emissions economy, while at the same time continuing to grow income and wellbeing.

On 9th August 2017 the Productivity Commission released their issues paper. The NZGBC responded to that. On 27th April the Productivity Commission released their draft report. Please see here the NZGBC response to the draft paper in which we call on the Productivity Commission to recognise the importance of putting energy efficiency first and to consider other regulatory drivers such as improving the Building Code and energy labels for reducing the demand for energy in New Zealand. We hope this is of use and welcome feedback.
