Annual Green Building Photo Competition

World Green Building Week is a chance to get inspired and push for a healthy and sustainable built environment. With the window to act on climate getting smaller every year, and the disruption to society through COVID-19, there’s an urgent opportunity to shape a better future and #ActOnClimate.

This year we're focusing on healthy, resilient communities. Our team of 5 million has adapted to change, and embraced the importance of having a safe, comfortable place to live, healthy green spaces, and strong communities to support one another.

So this year we’re looking for images that capture those themes, that demonstrate what makes our communities great places to live, work and play in.

Entries will be taken across three categories

Student: 3 winners will be chosen from submissions entered by a current NZGBC Future Thinker, current tertiary student and those under 18.

Open: 3 winners will be chosen by submissions entered by anyone not currently studying.

In addition, after an incredible year for Green Building in Aotearoa we’re keen to show off our Green Star, Homestar and NABERSNZ rated spaces. So this year we're welcoming entries to a bonus category;

Green Rated Buildings: 1 winner will be chosen from entries displaying an existing NZGBC rated building. This category is open to anyone and can be submitted in addition to entries to our Student or Open competition.

The winners of the Student and Open categories will each receive a $500 Photo Warehouse voucher, 2nd place $350, and 3rd place $150

Winning photographers and their images will also have the chance to be showcased across NZGBCs digital and social channels, and our busy events schedule including the 2021 Green Property Summit.

Submissions close Sunday 1 November
